carbon steel deposits from weld spatter/grinding in SS - best way to remove?
carbon steel deposits from weld spatter/grinding in SS - best way to remove?
(OP)
We had a contractor weld some carbon steel pipe next to some SS parts which spattered onto the SS. Also they used carbon steel wire wheels and dirty grinding wheels to finish some of the welds on the SS pipe. See pictures. Can we clean this up with SS wire wheels or clean grinding wheels meant for SS and will it stay clean? What is the best way to fix this?

There is a product called RedOne, a pickling paste that works well.
If the sections can be removed (spool pieces) that might be easier.

It will come back and cause problems.
You will need to at least partially disassemble the system in order to do a through job.
