Hi Friends,
I qualified welder SMAW+FCAW base metal 12.7 mm (3mm for SMAW, 9.7mm for FCAW) according AWS D1.1 so can I separate process SMAW and FCAW.
SMAW process: 6mm thickness. FCAW: 19.4 mm with backing

AWS isn't ASME. AWS structural welding codes have different requirements than ASME Section IX. AWS structural welding code generally do not have provisions for qualifying the welder for two or more welding processes with the same test coupon. Likewise, unlike ASME Section IX, AWS structural welding codes do not include provisions for qualifying more than one welder using one test coupon.
