What strong plastic would you suggest is suitable for a baby product?

RE: Strong plastic suitable for a baby product

How long is a piece of string?

What is the meaning of life, the Universe and everything?

I'm afraid much more of a clue is required than your question indicates!

What do you want this unknown product to do? How "strong" do you want it, etc., etc.

It's ok to soar like an eagle, but weasels don't get sucked into jet engines.

Sorry Pud, I was pretty vague. Imagine a child's stacking cup but if stood on could hold the weight of a 9 stone adult. Because it might be mouthed it needs to be free of toxins/BPA.

RE: Strong plastic suitable for a baby product

The example is probably polypropylene (PP) or high density polyethylene (HDPE). Wall thickness to suit loadings.

Both of which are available in food approved/baby grades (in fact it's difficult to get non-food approved!) The colour pigments are also available in food approved baby variants*.

*Although if it was my baby, I wouldn't buy anything made in China or similar - you never know what you're getting...wink

Thanks Pud!
Noted re China and I totally agree. Any recommendations for companies that may be able to help would always be welcomed. :)

RE: Strong plastic suitable for a baby product

You are welcome. Depending where you are in the World, an internet search should give you an injection moulder*. This sort of product/materials can be produced/processed by virtually any trade moulder.

* Or even "molder"

Thanks again :)

Just be careful if you choose Harry's shop, as he's been mouldering away up there in the North Country for some years now.

A 9 stone adult? No marketing through Walmart then?!? Sorry, it was there, I had to say it.

It is better to have enough ideas for some of them to be wrong, than to be always right by having no ideas at all.

Cynicism? What's next - irony? rednose
