i got my PE before NCEES registration. do all states now require NCEES registration if one wants to apply by comity?

I agree that it's worthwhile if you're planning on obtaining multiple licenses. I signed up with NCEES 20 years ago; although it's a pain as Jed says, it did make the process easy.
Thanks for posting because I forgot that my renewal is due by the end of the month.

They do not license anything but only serve as a short-cut to get info to the states quickly if you need to get licensed somewhere fast.
They also provide a model law engineer status that tells the states that you have the typical 4 year accredited degree, four years of experience under a PE, and have passed the typical exams.

Didn't know that. I knew the 3 west coast states will probably stop accepting them.....but they had state specific exams anyway. I was kind of hoping some of the other states (that didn't have any SE requirement before) will still recognize the old SE I & II. (NCEES did when I got that MLSE deal added to my record.)
