WAVE Guidance and Best Practice

WAVE Guidance and Best Practice

WAVE Guidance and Best Practice

(OP)
Hi fellow NXer's

I'm looking for a bit of guidance with somne best practice regarding the use of WAVE. in the attached zip folder there is a PDF of a draft process document which will be used to guide our CAD users in how to reduce model complexity/file size. there are also 7 cad file numbered 1 to 7 at the end.

Basically, a lot of our mouldings and castings are very large consisting of between 800 and 7000 features, this inevitably means that they take for ever to update when making simple mods, so Iam going to propose the attached method as a way of improving efficency, by breaking what would normally be a singel CAD model in to smaller compoent parts.

Now I'm only really experienced with WAVE to a basic level, simple mirrors, or linked bodies for machined castings etc. So what I would like to ask is if any of you Ninja WAVE users could perhaps cast your eye over the PDF and perhaps have a look at the a assembly and modelling process and if you can see any way I could improve the process or if I have made any glaring mistakes, if you would be kind enough to let me know.

Please feel free to take a copy if it is of any use to you.

Cheers and thanks

Si

Best regards
