Elevated steam trap
Elevated steam trap
(OP)
My friends,
We would like to run a 350 psig steam line under a road which is basically level grade. It could be fully encased or in a bored sleeve with pits at each end, that is not yet decided.
I would like to have traps which are at grade. This means a line or syphon from the boot running up to the trap. What is the best trap type(s) and installation considerations.
Best wishes,
Sshep

Thanks for reactivating this thread with an answer.
I am guessing TD=Thermodynamic. This sounds like a good trap to consider. I know it has to be theoretically possible to have an elevated trap since an orice trap and syphon would do it. I beleive the basic requirement is something that won't vapor lock, however the little research I did yielded very little discussion on the pitfalls of having an elevated line drain trap.
Any further advice or comment is welcome. My problem is still active.
best wishes,
Sean
