If you know somewhere where the rotational spring lock can be purchased I would greatly appreciate it. I am not sure what my mechanism is called - here its titled 360 Degree Spring Lock, although searching for that and similar terms doesn't turn up much.

I've sketched out how I would make one, and it would be a lot faster to just buy.

Ummmm....ummmm...perhaps I've seen ads for such things (I think) in Machine Design magazine. They were showing them as solutions for photocopier platen tops.
