UG NX6 - Issue when adding or removing items from a Reference Set

UG NX6 - Issue when adding or removing items from a Reference Set

UG NX6 - Issue when adding or removing items from a Reference Set

(OP)
Hello All,
I've recently tun into a problem. I'm not sure if I caused it, or an update caused this. When trying to add or remove items from a MODEL reference set, it just closes the "Reference Set" menu, and doesn't add or remove what I am selecting. Also, why is the "add components automatically" button greyed out so I cannot select it? Are there "Reference Set" preferences stashed somewhere that I keep overlooking, such as in the Customer Defaults menus?

This doesn't work:
FORMAT --> REFERENCE SETS, highlight MODEL reference set, then add or remove item.

Thank you in advance...

RE: UG NX6 - Issue when adding or removing items from a Reference Set

what type of things are you trying to add to the MODEL reference set?
When removing something from that reference set hold your SHIFT key down, and select it. It should work.
Why is it greyed out ? because that's the way it is, I guess.
Have you tried creating a differnt reference set and utilizing that instead of the MODEL reference set ?

Just adding/removing solid bodies. I've done this thousands of times. All of a sudden, it doesn't work anymore.
Yes, I tried creating a different reference set. It closes the reference set window.

RE: UG NX6 - Issue when adding or removing items from a Reference Set

Have you tried doing a part cleanup?

RE: UG NX6 - Issue when adding or removing items from a Reference Set

(OP)
Yea, tried a part cleanup. The same issue is happening with a lot of different part files, so it's not limited to one file.

RE: UG NX6 - Issue when adding or removing items from a Reference Set

It could be an issure with your graphics card ~ try a computer reboot and see if that helps.

RE: UG NX6 - Issue when adding or removing items from a Reference Set

You may need to send your model to GTAC. they may have a solution for you.

Sorry one more thing it is just under one persons log in or does this happen to everybody that opens this part?

Okay, I'm getting somewhere. I've run into this problem a few times in the past two weeks. I decided to check the drivers for my graphics card. They were up to date. I closed everything, and restarted the computer. The problem adding/removing items to the reference set is gone. I think the issue happens when I have a lot of parts/assemblies opened and my memory is maxed out.

RE: UG NX6 - Issue when adding or removing items from a Reference Set

I think so too.
I get the same problem, especially when I don't sign off my computer each night.
I never really had the problem until we went to WINDOWS 7.

RE: UG NX6 - Issue when adding or removing items from a Reference Set

It is a bug in NX6, restarting NX "usually" allows you to then edit the reference set.

NX 6.0.5.3 (NX 8.5 Testing)
