PUMP ROOM PUMP PLACEMENT PROBLEM

PUMP ROOM PUMP PLACEMENT PROBLEM

PUMP ROOM PUMP PLACEMENT PROBLEM

(OP)
Hi..

There is a problem in my site were im working.... the pump room has no enough space as the pumps are horizontal flow pumps...my question is that can we arrange pumps in any order ....means normally they are parrallel and symmetrical placed...can i arrange thm in my own way ( means vertically and horzontally ) so that thy could fit in the room properly.... Is ther any pblm by doing so ??

RE: PUMP ROOM PUMP PLACEMENT PROBLEM

Yes, there are problems turning a horizontal pump to vertical.

Best bet: talk to the engineer who did the design.

Second best: Wait for a pump fellow to answer.

Best to you,

Goober Dave

RE: PUMP ROOM PUMP PLACEMENT PROBLEM

Without seeing the original design next to your new layout, I don't think anyone will be able to comment directly to your question.

Do you have access to the designer? That's the best place to start. If not, make us some sketches.

Best to you,

Goober Dave

RE: PUMP ROOM PUMP PLACEMENT PROBLEM

if you place balancing valve on one of pump connection, you can connect it in non-symmetric fashion.

RE: PUMP ROOM PUMP PLACEMENT PROBLEM

The only reason for pumps or other equipment to be arranged with their axes parallel to each other, other than aesthetics, is for ease of maintenance. In many existing spaces that have been retrofitted, it is common to see them scattered around whatever space is available.
