Analyzing pump datasheets

Analyzing pump datasheets

Analyzing pump datasheets

(OP)
HI guys,i am working as a Trainee mechanical engineer on a project team and we have a lot of pump datasheets coming in from the design contractor.i would like to review them at a much faster rate and make comments. Can any of the older engineers assist me with tips on how to achieve this. Thanks in advance

RE: Analyzing pump datasheets

Are you reviewing data sheets that a contractor is preparing for you to send out for bids or are you evaluating actual bids?

I only have a small amount of experience creating and reviewing data sheets and proposals (non pump). Even with well prepared specs and datasheets it can be time consuming to get apples-to-apples comparisons.

RE: Analyzing pump datasheets

Get a common data sheet in excel that covers all the types of pumps then insist they use it so you can copy the columns to compare pumps and check against the requirements.

My motto: Learn something new every day

Also: There's usually a good reason why everyone does it that way

RE: Analyzing pump datasheets

Insist is the key word. I've sent excel data sheets only to have them filled out, printed, scanned, and emailed as a pic! :)

I am reviewing datasheets that a contractor has prepared, about to be sent out for bids.I think what i might need will be an excel sheet that i can input the process data and when he comes back with the detailed design datasheets i can just match them against what i have.Right now i do the calculations manually but its eating into my man-hours.
