Chiller Plant Operation Seminars?

Chiller Plant Operation Seminars?

Chiller Plant Operation Seminars?

(OP)
Have you heard of any kind of seminar for chiller plant owners (operators, engineers etc...)?

RE: Chiller Plant Operation Seminars?

I have not, but I would call up the local reps for the chillers in that building as a starting point.

Best to you,

Goober Dave

RE: Chiller Plant Operation Seminars?

It depends where you are. Here in Australia, AIRAH (Australian Institute of Refrigeration Airconditioninf and Heating) run numerous courses on all aspects of the HVAC/R industry.

I'm quite sure ASHRAE also run courses locally, mainly in North America but there are chapters all over.

RE: Chiller Plant Operation Seminars?

I believe McQuay used to have them and I imagine they still do. And I bet Carrier, York and Trane do or will as well. Contact your local reps.

RE: Chiller Plant Operation Seminars?

Carries has a Technical Development Program that covers all aspects of HVAC systems from psychrometrics to chiller design. It is a 10 week, one evening per week program, and costs about $500. The book material alone that you receive as part of the course is well worth the $500. I took the course about a year ago and would highly recommend it.

RE: Chiller Plant Operation Seminars?

I meant to say Carrier not Carries. Sometimes I really wish we had an edit function!

RE: Chiller Plant Operation Seminars?

Noway2, I checked Carrier site but I didn't see the specific course you have mentioned. Can you post the link on here? is it in Syracuse, NY?

RE: Chiller Plant Operation Seminars?

Here is a link to a site about their training. It looks to me like a site where you can order the training modules. The course I took was held in Raleigh, NC and they brought a couple of guys down from Syracuse to teach parts of it. I will contact the person in charge of the course I took and ask him for some contact information that I can post in a follow response.

RE: Chiller Plant Operation Seminars?

DOH!, here is the link: http://www.training.carrier.com/commercial/hvac/ge...

At closer look it also shows that it has a list of class locations and schedules. I have also contacted the local office to see if they have any recommendations.

RE: Chiller Plant Operation Seminars?

ssn6, it's great that Noway2 found you a site link -- but I believe you'll have more success calling your local dealers on the phone. That's how I was able to arrange training years ago on topics I wanted for my crew.

Best to you,

Goober Dave

This is inline with the response I received from the Raleigh office rep, who also explained that the information isn't really available online either. The response is below. From the reply, If your willing to share your location, at least down to the nearby major metropolitan area, I can get you a specific contact:

All of the individual sales offices offer their TDP programs at different times throughout the year. If you can ask him where he is located, I can send you the appropriate office contact information for him to reach out to. Unfortunately this information isn’t really advertised on the web anywhere, so he would need to call the office and find out when they plan to run their next program.
