SE Exam References for 2014
SE Exam References for 2014
(OP)
I'm planning on sitting the SE exam in April of 2014 but according to the NCEES website, code references for that exam won't be posted until November. I really don't want to have to wait until then to start gathering the codes and with the holidays, it might not be until January by the time I have all of the references and can really buckle down to study. On the other hand, I'm leery about using the codes listed for the 2013 exams to study for an exam in 2014. Any body have any suggestions on what I should do? Do I wait or do I hope that the same references will be used next year?

You could also take a look at the latest AISC Steel Design Manual, and the AISC Seismic Design Manual, along with the latest AITC for wood, ACI 318 for concrete, and, of course, Amrhein for CMU design. Being familiar with the provisions of these will make it simpler in reviewing and noting any changes in the list.
Have you enrolled in your local chapter of the Structural Engineers' Association? They offer a 10 week review course that really helped me create an outline to build from.

Usually they lag a code behind for the exam (as do most states). This thread indicates that they updated to 2009 IBC in 2012 and updated to the 2006 IBC in 2008.
