splitting the analysis

splitting the analysis

(OP)

Hi everybody,

While running a cosimulation in abaqus, after sometime the computer hangs and after sometime(may be 10-12 hours) the program terminates and everything vanishes, but with a notice showing that "your computer is low on memory, and there are two options restart or close". When I clicked on restart, it started again. Can anybody tell me that is it the restart analysis? In that case, if something runs out of memory in computer, I can complete running the program by splitting the time range several times?

RE: splitting the analysis

Make sure ur drive in which ABAQUS is installed has lot of free space depending upon the job you are running. If u are from in college, u can enquire about CLUSTERS, for the purpose of running the job. Hope this helps..

Hello AravindasS,

Thanks for your reply. I am running my program in workstation computer at college which has 32 GB RAM. It has almost 550 GB free space. But still not working. Can you explain what is clusters?

Also, for when I try to run the program, the cosimulation engine gives me an error "cannot locate field temperature". I searched in google a lot of times about that, but did not find any explanation to that? Do you know what does it mean?
