Can I create different area edge constraints on sap2000?

Can I create different area edge constraints on sap2000?

Hi, someone knows if there is a way to release the edges of an area element the way you might do with a frame element? I want it to be bound to a beam without transfering any moment as if pinned.

RE: Can I create different area edge constraints on sap2000?

Unfortunately this is not supported, but you can do that indirectly, by:
- Either set a small torsional modifier for the corresponding frame object
- Or assign a dummy shell area section (with reduced bending modifiers m11, m22, m12) only parallel to the edges of the area element for a small distance.
