Question:
Can I qualify a welder for casting weld repair from Carbon and Alloy steel, in accordance with AWS D17.1:2001 (or former AMS/MIL-STD1595) using 8620 Heat Treatable Alloy Steel instead of any steels from group IB table 4.2 (or in AMS 1595 para 10.2 in the Appendix, page 61 Base metal group Ib)?
