NX8 Manufacturing: Dividing toolpaths in turning

NX8 Manufacturing: Dividing toolpaths in turning

(OP)
Hello

Is it possible to divide a turning toolpath by time/distance?

The option exists in NX manufacturing for milling, but is greyed out when a turning operation is selected.

We are running NX 8.0.3.4 thru TeamCenter.

Thank you for your time.

RE: NX8 Manufacturing: Dividing toolpaths in turning

The only way I have divided turning paths is to create the operation and then copy it. Then add containment to the 1st operation to limit the tool path verticvally or horizontally. When you re-generate to 2nd path the system will recognize the inprocess workpiece.

If the goal is to stop cutting so you can check/change an insert, for example, there is a function for this.

Look in the "Non-cutting moves" and in NX6 it's called "Local return"(probably similar in NX8). That might help you.
