Is there a recognized maximum acceptable resistance? My '97 version of NETA MTS does not mention such a test. Does anyone have a later version that does? If so what value(s) is(are) specified? Thanks.

RE: LTC contact resistance

Standards do not specify contact resistance measurement as an acceptance or design test for tap changers, at least IEC &IEEE for Tap Changers. Dont know about NETA. Temperature rise of contacts for 1.2xrated current is a type test both for OLTC & DETC. But internally manufacturers do check this and vary from manufacturer to manufacturer and model to model.
