Yield strength vs. Temperature
Yield strength vs. Temperature
(OP)
I am looking to find the yield strength of a few alloys at elevated temperature 800F.
I found the following link
http://www.engineeringtoolbox.com/metal-temperatur...
I am skeptical as they do not cite where this data comes form, but it seems to indicate "structural steel" has about 75% of its original strength at 800F
Alloys I would like to know the strength at 800F for
4140

2. ASM publishes High-Temperature Property Data: Ferrous Alloys, ISBN:0-87170-243-6
For the 4140 you need to know the tempering temperature, higher strength conditions will loose more strength (%).
