SAE Oils Properties

(OP)
hi,
how can i find the SAE oils properties like Specific heat, viscosity & ... ? I need them for heat design of a heat exchanger.
thanks

RE: SAE Oils Properties

If you know the degrees API at 60 F, the Appendix in Donald Q. Kern's Process Heat Transfer is handy.

Also, I would think the Oil and Gas Journal would be a good place to look.

My Crane TP-410 has s.g. and viscosity in Appendix A, but no specific heat, thermal conductivity, etc.

Good luck,
Latexman

If you can access the software package HEXTRAN, it will supply you with the information you need.
