Adding new nozzle to existing pressure vessel

(OP)
We have an existing demethanizer feed contact drum built in 1977 to Section VIII Div 1 year 1974 and addenda 1975. We are replacing a liquid outlet pad-reinforced RF 4" 300# SA-182 F316 SS nozzle with a 6" 304 SS material. The nameplate MAWP and temperature is 636 psig and 212 F, respectively. Per B16.5 latest edition, the flange rating should be 600#. In this kind of revamp jobs, should one always follow the latest Code (B16.5 is this case)? Thank you.

RE: Adding new nozzle to existing pressure vessel

For the pressure vessel, you should follow NBIC Part 3 and your local regulations.

RE: Adding new nozzle to existing pressure vessel

Yes, you are correct;- you should follow the latest ASME B16.5 edition
