Hi Folks,

Was wondering if anyone could help me on this one? We have a down hole oil tool that we are looking to flush 15% HCL Acid through for one hour. The tool is made up of several components that are NACE 4140 and some are NACE 17/4 material.

Thanks in advance.

Dave

RE: 15% HCL Acid on NACE 4140 & 17/4 SS

A question might be is there a chance of trapping the acid wash so droplets might be stuck on components or is it guaranteed to not be on the tool more than brief moment?

As the tool is down an oil well, it will be flushing past the tool for an hour. Once flushing stops, then the tool will be surrounded in well fluids (oil / gas / water) again.

Thanks

not sure on inhibitors as we have been given little information about what they are doing apart from injecting 15% HCL for an hour. Questions like these are all good information so thanks.
