Swaged connection

Hello ,
I am searching for information about Swaged connection . Don't know any references documents: what is it, how to calculte the capaicity of such connection etc...
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

RE: Swaged connection

For swaged connections used with wire rope, Crosby's "Wire Rope End Termination User's Manual" has good general information, beginning on page 7. It is a free download at this link:
http://www.thecrosbygroup.com/Portals/0/docs/manua...

According to the information in the above manual (see page 8), the determination of working load limit for swaged connections is determined by the Wire Rope Technical Board in their "Wire Rope Sling User's Manual", which is offered ($30.00 + Shipping) here:

That's basically for the ropes.I am looking towards metal to metal swage connection, in this particular case aluminum trellis framing.
Any information related to this would be greatly appreciated.
thanks

SlideRuleEra gave you a really good and complete answer and some links which would have been what most of us would have thought the question pertained to. Now, we hear it’s a trellis and more specifically a trellis connection, whatever that is. I mean, is it for roses or ivy or clematis? smile In a few days I hope you tell us what your version of a trellis is, and what that connection looks like, so we don’t have to guess at that too. Suffice-it-to-say, swagging is a forging process, and aluminum is fairly easy to forge and extrude. It is highly dependant upon the starting and ending shapes, materials involved, equipment available for the process, etc. We need much more detail about what you are really trying to do to comment further. You might be best to find a vendor who can see what you want and are trying to do, and can do what you want, and ask them your questions, we can’t see it from here. Otherwise, SlideRuleEra made a valiant effort.
