Editing Imported Parasolid/IGES from SolidDesigner in SWX 2001+

Editing Imported Parasolid/IGES from SolidDesigner in SWX 2001+

(OP)
I'm having problems editing an 'imported' model in SWX 2001+. It was created in SolidDesigner (v.11) and saved as both IGES and Parasolid files for editing in SWX2001+ (which is what I am using). All I want to do is be able to extrude away from the original model into a solid block and then work on the block. However, I don't seem to be able to turn the curves on the Para/IGES model into a Composite curve which I know would then give me a profile to loft from onto a new plane. Does anyone have experience of whether one file type is better than the other at this sort of file transfer?

Regards

rock.
