What is the rule for composite beam design when the deck orientation in neither parallel nor perpendicular to the framing? In this particular case I have an edge beam with deck that frames in at a 30° angle.

As far as what goes? the effective width of slab?

whether to design it as parallel or perpendicular, there are different rules depending on the orientation. I would assume that you would analyze it as perpendicular and only use the concrete above the flutes.
