Excess penetration of the root (icycles, welding wire, welding rods sticking through into the pipe)
Excess penetration of the root (icycles, welding wire, welding rods sticking through into the pipe)
(OP)
API 1104 does not seem to address if excess penetration of the root bead is a problem.
For pipeline applications it can obviously be a problem if there are loose wires or electrodes inside the pipe (getting stuck in valve seats or meter runs)
but it is also a potential hang-up spot for smart pigs and cleaning pigs.
Is there anywhere in 1104 that addresses this?
