Hi,
I am currently using NX8.5 with NVidia Quadro 600. It works fine but sometimes I notice that it is not as smooth.
Just out of curiosity, is it worth it getting a NVidia Quadro K2000? The K2000 is twice more expensive than the 600.
Or, is it better to upgrade the CPU to a Core i7?
I think most CAD softwares are more CPU intensive than GPU intensive. The computer I am assigned to has a Core i3 paired with Quadro 600...I know, a pretty "basic" machine but I am new so...
Most of the assemblies I work with is less than 100 parts.
Would appreciate any comment from people who have higher end workstations. I would really like to know that if I request an upgrade, what should I request to upgrade; CPU or GPU?
Thank you!

RE: Video cards
I am not an IT specialist but I think it depends which tasks are not running smooth. If the problem is loading or rebuliding I would say CPU/memory need updgrade. If its rotation of the viewport with 3d model or complicated technical drawing the GPU is the bottleneck. Try to play with different options in the software: different shading mode, resolution, level of details, do not load the parts you dont use at the moment... we usually do not need 5k£ workstations to get our job done :)
