Changing Default Canned View Orientation

Changing Default Canned View Orientation

Changing Default Canned View Orientation

(OP)
Hi All,

The default canned front view in NX will orient the model to X-Z plane("X" being Horizontal & "Z" being Vertical). My client want to change this behaviour and he want's the front view to orient the model in X-Y plane("X" being Horizontal & "Y" being Vertical). Is there any way to do this?

I am using NX8.5

Thanks In Advance

RE: Changing Default Canned View Orientation

I don't think you can change the orientation of the "canned" views or delete them. You can however create your own views and name them whatever you like.

possibly a view set is something that you want to look into

RE: Changing Default Canned View Orientation

By definition, a 'Canned' view is just that, Canned, or in software terminology, 'hard-coded'. While you can technically 'Save' any one of the eight pre-defined (AKA 'Canned') views, changes to their orientation will be ignored while scale and view status (shaded versus wireframe) will be retained. And for the record, this has been this way as long as I can recall, and I will have been using UG/NX for 36 years this next month.
