ERP Software

(OP)
I work for a small specialty chemical company.  Everything is a batch process and about 50% of our products are custom or toll work for other companies.  We have been using custom DOS based software for inventory, shipping, QC, batch sheets, MSDS, order entry and a few other miscellaneous things.  We are hoping to replace this software with newer software in the next year.  We are currently evaluating a custom program from a local vendor that is pretty pricey, and we have done some investigating into Process Pro.  We do not have an IT staff, so we hope to find something that doesn't require constant maintenance once it is implemented.  Is there anything out there that someone is using that they think is the best thing in the world, or something that we should definitely shy away from?  Any information or advice is greatly appreciated.

RE: ERP Software

AspenTech can tie in ERP with batch modelling and control and scheduling software.  Likely pricey, but then again, nothing ventured, nothing gained ... returns could be high.
Good luck.
