4130 Plate Hardenability

4130 Plate Hardenability

(OP)
Hi All,

I'm ordering a plate of 4130 for machining and I want to specify the maximum usable core hardness that I can get out of the material. The plate is 2ft by 3ft and 3-3/4" thick. The supplier can't guarantee my target hardness of 41-44HRC (I'm assuming since the part is too thick they can't quench quick enough). What is the hardest usable through hardness I can expect to get from this specific plate geometry after Q & T?

Just answered my own question nevermind!
