Two stroke oil in diesel

Two stroke oil in diesel

Two stroke oil in diesel

(OP)
Having looked here a few weeks ago I thought why not its used in two stroke engines and its obviously a dam good lubericant. Four stroke engines seem to manage it (filling up the law mower forgetting that it is a two stroke mix). At 200:1 which seemed to be the "right" mix I thought here goes and "wow" the 130 defender has more power and sounds quieter. Three days in and all I've got to say is that it's like I'm in fourth gear all the time with the power and responce. I hope I'm not doing any harm but I can't see how as I'm just lubeing the entire diesel system which can't be bad right ???

RE: Two stroke oil in diesel

You're adding ringding oil to your Diesel's fuel at 200:1?

My guess: It's probably no worse than any aftermarket Diesel additive, but it may take more than a few days for any damage to show up with that mix ratio. ... if there will be any damage. Hey, it's your engine, right?

RE: Two stroke oil in diesel

Normal two-stroke oil at a low blend ratio likely won't give trouble as long as the engine doesn't have fancy emission control systems.

I would strongly advise against it if your engine is 2007 or newer (i.e. if it has a DPF).

I'm gonna pretend this was never posted...

It's working out at two cents per litre and being as its a 2003 there's no PDF filter. I thought it seems to be running smoother too and the guy that told me about it confirmed all this is the case with his units too he's running it in his van(sprinter),lorry(scania)and amazon jeep. The jeep he done without telling the wife and she came home that same night having noted a difference in power and running noise, at this stage the fuel efficiency has improved 5/7% on that so I thought what have I got to loose. The 130's got 106K on the clock
