apply force on a surface, part of a bigger surface

apply force on a surface, part of a bigger surface

Hi all,
I use CATIA V5 Generative Structure Analysis module.

I need to know how to apply a force on part of a bigger surface.

For example if I have a cube, I need to apply a force on a quarter of one of six faces.
How to set this? When I select a face it aplies force on all the surface.

Thank you very much.

If this is the better position of my thread, suggest me where to post it. Thanks

create a fill as you like

then use the Part Design Sew Surface function. Uncheck the 'Simplify geometry' option

Hi,
I try as you explained.

But in this manner I can apply forces only out of this surface extracted. I need to apply forces in.

Where is my error?

Thanks

Hi,
I don't undestand the difference!

Ok, I undestand.

You selected Part Body in the tree.

It's correct to say that in my previuos manner I apply force only out my surface?

Thanks

RE: apply force on a surface, part of a bigger surface

the difference is that i put the geometrical set in noshow.

You can not apply the force to the surface, only to the solid face.

does catia have anything similar to nx cae, where you have a master model (cad) and you can simplify, edit (change thickness, remove holes...) the model, store multiple analyses in one file (i think catia has that, not sure) and nothing really changes to the cad model from the geometry POV (without making additional files or model variations)?

i hope the image works

Ok, but if I do not select Part Body, it seems that I apply force only on solid face without surface created in the solid face. It is correct? Or in this manner I apply the force to all solid face?

RE: apply force on a surface, part of a bigger surface

I do not select the partbody I select the resulting face of the PartBody...
