Exporting a surface as a .STP file

Exporting a surface as a .STP file

(OP)
Hi All,

Please could someone assist with the following,

I am trying to export a surface as a .STP file.

The file translates, but when I go into another package to open it up there is nothing there.
However if I give thickness to the surface, and send it through the translator as a solid, it opens up fine.

Does anyone know why this might be happening?

RE: Exporting a surface as a .STP file

Make sure that surfaces are ticked on the dialog

Someone may have set an option to only export solid bodies and not sheet bodies.

Same with the import option in the target software - it may only allow solids to be imported.
