Does any one have experience with 90deg mitered construction of nozzle for the pressure vessel.

What are the applicable design and testing requirement as per ASME section 8 div-2??

Thanks
MD.

RE: ASME Seection 8 Div-2(mitered construction)

Would you please be a little more specific about the context of your request. I am unclear what a mitered nozzle is (I know what a mitered elbow is...).

ASME Section VIII, Division 2 does not have specific rules for anything mitered. That does not preclude performing a design-by-analysis in Part 5, though.

its mitered elbow only ,wanted to in place of standard 90deg elbow.

RE: ASME Seection 8 Div-2(mitered construction)

Such a component should be considered to be outside the scope of the Pressure Vessel Code. I would design it to the Piping Code.

As I said - there are no rules in Division 2 for mitered elbows.
