ASME P45 Material Welding

ASME P45 Material Welding

Dear all, I have a question regarding P45 materials welding. I have a qualified WPS that made with UNS N08020 (SB729) PQR. And I want to use this procedure on Alloy 20 which is UNS N08825 numbered material.

According to ASME you can weld the materials that are in the same P number and G number. And both of those material is P45 (no group) material, I dont see any problem with it but I heard something else, could you check this too.

Thanks&Regards,

You can use the qualified procedure; however, the F No of the filler metal is also an essential variable as well. Is the qualified filler metal adequate for the service?

Yes, both materials requires same filler material. Thanks for the reply.
