Data Center Environment question

Data Center Environment question

Data Center Environment question

(OP)
New Data Center manager trying to familiarize with environmental issues. Can anyone answer the following question regarding this scenario?

If I have chilled water temps at 85 degrees and my computer room is humid, now I am receiving high head pressure warnings on CRU's, what exactly should I be checking for?
Any help is appreciated!

RE: Data Center Environment question

You should hire an Engineer familiar with these systems and not try to bootstrap on a web forum.

RE: Data Center Environment question

85 degrees is un-chilled water.

I'm going to lean willard3's way on this post. You need to call a service company, we can't troubleshoot long-distance.

If you persist, please provide LOTS more information. Outdoor air conditions, type of unit, supply air temperatures, chilled water supply and return temperatures, outdoor air supply, motor currents, etc...

Best to you,

Goober Dave

RE: Data Center Environment question

This makes no sense, first of all 85 degree water is not chilled, maybe you are thinking of cooling tower water? Or did you mean space temp? Your CRAC units may not be able to handle the load if you are seeing high humidity. Make sure your supply air setpoints are 55 degrees or less, check your capacities, just hire someone who knows what the hell they are doing.

RE: Data Center Environment question

Also, measure of outside air humidity vs space humidity. I would assume that as a computer center, loading would be sensible. If OA RH is lower than indoor, you may have a humidifier out of control.
