Rotating a Mirrored object

Rotating a Mirrored object

Rotating a Mirrored object

(OP)
Hi everyone.

New user to Catia (and general CAD novice!) (using V5 R19)

I produced this camshaft (below) in NX 7.5 and I want to be able to produce it in Catia. To produce in NX I created one lobe, and then mirrored it. I then used the "move" function to rotate it to the required position.

I cannot find a way to do this in Catia! I can mirror the lobe but that's all. If I use the rotate function it rotates the whole thing and not just the mirrored section. Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

RE: Rotating a Mirrored object

Hello Harley30

In CATIA Part Design the mirror command creates a feature fully associated with the initial feature
You need to work as follows
1. Add new Body (Insert>Body)
2. Copy paste the already created in PartBody feature for lobe to the new body
3. Now you can move/rotate.... it

I hope it helps
