National Board Forms

National Board Forms

National Board Forms

(OP)
I'm currently looking for some guidelines on submitting U-1As, R-1, R-2, NB-136, etc. to the National Board. Our firm has had some forms sent back saying our font size was too small, for example and I would like to have a checklist or guideline which indicates the proper fonts, font size, etc. I have been unable to locate this info in the ASME code book so I'm thinking this must be a National Board rule rather than explicit to ASME. Anyone have a link to a document which might outline something like this?

RE: National Board Forms

It's hard to find but National Board has a guidline for completing data reports which covers the font size requirement. I have attached for your review. In my opinion, National Board has been enforcing this rule the last couple of years so that manufacturer's will enroll in their electronic data report transfer program. I'm sure they mentioned their EDT program in the letter that was returned with the data reports.

RE: National Board Forms

When The N.B. send you the rejects don`t throw away the second page accompanying the letter. There are your instructions. Small fonts! I`m sorry that you used the wrong forms' Genblr

Thanks bpv66, I believe this is the form I was looking for. Thanks to all for the input.

I haven't spoken to my supervisors about why they prefer snail mail vs. EDT, but I'm sure they have their reasons. I'll have to check the letter to see the language but from their website it seems like they're pushing EDT. I'm sure it's more efficient for them.

GenB I will have to take a look at the letter we received to see if anything was attached. Presently we are not responding to a letter; my boss just asked that I find the checklist so we won't make the same mistake (or any other mistakes) going forward.
