LS-DYNA

LS-DYNA

(OP)
Hello, I'm working with LS-DYNA and I'm trying to simulate the rollover test on a platform. I have problems with the rotation of the platform and not achieving this turn. I have applied the boundary conditions of no movement in any of the axes and only have allowed the rotation. for rotating the platform is to be rotated at a constant angular velocity, so apply

Specify Loads> OMGZ (angular velocity about the z axis)

with array parameters

when the solution is done, the platform does not rotate. I have modeled the platform with shell163

I think what happens is that the nodes rotate on its axis or something.

if anyone has any information or advice you can use.

thanks

RE: LS-DYNA

make sure your restraint from movement in the other axes doesnt stop the platform from rotating. Say if you have a square, with a node at each corner. If you lock all the nodes from translating in any direction, it cannot rotate about any axis, it just wont translate moment to the node. I'm not familiar with LS-DYNA specifically, but you may want to apply very weak springs to allow the motion to happen about the desired axis.

Hi, thanks for giving your opinion. I have managed to rotate the platform by applying constraints on the line that forms the axis of rotation, as I applied a ROTZ load on the axis of rotation, but it was important to define the "Acceleration CS" This command tells the program on that axis must rotating the nodes.
