Drift test for MLR boiler tubes

Drift test for MLR boiler tubes

(OP)
Is there any standard procedure to carry out Drift Test of Multi Lead Rifled (MLR) tubes? We want to check the consistancy of the internal profile of MLR tubes which is very important for boiler application.

RE: Drift test for MLR boiler tubes

In the past when we ordered multiple lead rifled boiler tubing for our boilers we requested a representative cross section and one longitudinal section - 2" length of tubing to be removed for complete dimensional analysis. I don’t recall a specific drift testing standard.
