UMESHMOTION or mesh refinement following analysis

UMESHMOTION or mesh refinement following analysis

UMESHMOTION or mesh refinement following analysis

(OP)
I’m working on a model using the UMESHMOTION subroutine. I have a model working fairly well using the adaptive meshing capabilities. I’m having trouble with excessive distortion of some elements. In the attached example, I want to wear away the two plates in the pattern shown in the image . I’m running into problems because the elements on the bottom of the top plate at the far left and right are almost completely wearing away.

Is there a way to remesh the model following the analysis allow for more material to wear away?
