Crimp terminal reeling service?

Crimp terminal reeling service?

Crimp terminal reeling service?

(OP)
We have a "custom" screw machined terminal that we designed/use and were looking to see if anyone knows of a company that puts custom terminals onto a reel or tape or whatever so that it can be fed into semiautomatic crimping applicators/presses like an Amp G press. Volumes have increased significantly and hand feeding just isn't feasible anymore.
My "google-foo" skills aren't strong today.

RE: Crimp terminal reeling service?

Sorry, but I don't know of anyone that has a process to put loose screw machine parts on a reel. However I've seen other machines that used a vibratory bowl feeder for such parts, perhaps that approach could work for you?

You also might try redesigning the terminal from a reel of stamped metal, but in that case Amp probably already has a similar product which would work.

A vib bowl is the direction we intended to take but someone thought a reeling service might exist out there..

A redesign might actually be the most cost effective solution in the end though.

RE: Crimp terminal reeling service?

There are services that do re-package ICs and other components on a reel for surface mount. You might check out one of these to see if they have a minor sideline into terminals.
