Is it possible to run 2 to 3 simulation at a time in ANSYS batch mode ?

Is it possible to run 2 to 3 simulation at a time in ANSYS batch mode ?

(OP)
Hi,

I have some simulation to be run with changing (trial and error ) one parameter. First, i try with the one value and run in a ANSYS Batch mode. Then , I check results. Again, i change that parameter , then run for the second time same simulation with the new value for that parameter.

My doubt is , how can i do it efficiently at a single time ? Like trying out 3 possible values and running the simulation simultaneously ? Can i do this in Batch mode ? Please need your expert guidance.

RE: Is it possible to run 2 to 3 simulation at a time in ANSYS batch mode ?

Hi abaquasian,

Yes, this can be done with ANSYS. However, it will depend on the license you have available. If you have parallel processing or multiple machines, you can run these simulations simultaneously. At that point you would need to consider how many processors you would want to be using licenses for, because after 2 or three the advantage gained of decreased computation time per additional processor begins to drop off dramatically.

However, what is most likely available with your license and easier, is to use multiple parameters and use optimization through workbench. Even if you want to work with APDL, you can link parameters to this top GUI level to be fed in and changed in your code. Once this is all set up, then you can let it run in batch mode.

Is there anything else or more specific you would like to know?
