Sulfur Concrete

Sulfur Concrete

Sulfur Concrete

(OP)
I have a doubt in mind.
(i)Shell Thiocrete is just a binder from Shell. Provided we want to manufacture sulfur concrete, we just need to buy the shell thiocrete(which will be around 2%) in the mixture and then melt it along with sulfur and aggregates?
or
(ii). Shell Thiocrete is already a mixture of sulfur and the binder, and we just need aggregates from our part after buying thiocrete to mannufacture sulfur concrete.

Which one is true?

RE: Sulfur Concrete

The second one (ii) is true from my understanding. Thiocrete already includes the sulfur as part of the binder, so additional sulfur is not needed. Just add aggregate and heat.

Is there anywhere where I can get buy the polymeric binder?

RE: Sulfur Concrete

Thiocrete is a trade name. Google will identify the manufacturer.

RE: Sulfur Concrete

With proprietary products, it not uncommon for the manufacturer to control the sales of the product to prevent improper applications or uses. Often, it requires some education for a seller or user to qualify. - It is not like dumping some cement into a mixer with other ingredients.

Manufacturers want to avoid the "black cloud" with a poor use that could lead to a false reputation.

Thanks to everyone for helping me. Epoxy coating will be placed on the floor after treating all cracks by sandblasting and filler.
