CATIA help not working; Java issue?

CATIA help not working; Java issue?

CATIA help not working; Java issue?

(OP)
Can someone help with this one? I hit F1 and that used to get me to CATIA help. Now, when I hit the binoculars, I get the errors shown in my attachment. It's gotta be a Java thing. Nothing has changed by my hand. It worked last week.

Absolutely no security settings have been changed.

Please, using CATIA is hopeless without the help menu.

I am using Chrome on Windows 7. Same problem through Firefox.

I had the same issue using Internet Explorer. I switched over to Mozilla Firefox and issue was resolved

Firefox is where my issue came up. It worked fine last week.

RE: CATIA help not working; Java issue?

I had the same thing after an update to 25. The Fox, Explorer and Chrome are down for me.

Java Plug-in 10.25.2.16
Using JRE version 1.7.0_25-b16 Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM

Win XP64
21SP6/22SP4, 3DVIA Composer 2013X, ST R20
Dell T7400 16GB Ram
Quadro FX 4800 - 1.5GB

RE: CATIA help not working; Java issue?

Try searching Google for "catia free fr" which should give the CATIAV5R20 help. Does that one work for you?

RE: CATIA help not working; Java issue?

Oh, if you insist on using the Binoculars function to search, it probably won't work either. I'd suggest to avoid it.

But I like hitting F1 to get my help (and using the binoculars). That's the way it should be, and always was until last week.

Is there any way to severely cripple Java Update so that my computer can work harmoniously again? Any way to stop Sun Systems' relentless updates every half hour? Do I have to go down there?

Ferdo, maybe you can make a code-equivalent of a baseball bat and we cat set Java straight.

Off topic...Alas, help still not working :(

RE: CATIA help not working; Java issue?

Hi,

I was curious if for me is working and...surprise...same error...so...what you have to do (in my case is Win7):

Go to Control Panel and click on Java (open Java Control Panel/Java Settings)
Set the Security Level to Medium

Close your browser and Java Control Panel

Open the browser, you will get a security warning, accept the risk and hit Run

Voila !!!

RE: CATIA help not working; Java issue?

The only way it worked for me, was unchecking in java control panel, the option "Enable the next-generation Java Plug-in".

RE: CATIA help not working; Java issue?

any idea on how to enable the catia companion under win 8 (preferrably ie, but not limited to)? i've tried everything, but it always says javascript disabled. i've tried lowering the security level, but it doesn't help.
