Problem with Ansys v11 please help

(OP)
I have a problem confuses me so much and it becomes an obstacle in my research
i am trying to make nonlinear analysis for a steel beam and to make this i started with a simple model for a web plate
and checked on the buckling factor and it was ok but after that i need to make update for the geometry so i used UPGEOM and i was expecting for the model to have a smaller
buckling factor than the static state but it larger and it is illogical , son now i don't now where is the problem in my model and here it is the order from my model and if anyone wants me to send him the whole model i will send it
so please if anyone can help me i will be more than happy and so thankful for him

RE: Problem with Ansys v11 please help

Hi OAzmy,

What element type(s) are you working with? Perhaps it could be an issue with the elemental theory for your problem, or even just a mesh being too course or fine in a region.

Also, have you checked the release notes for ANSYS versions since v11? Usually for the command window basis this does not happen, but there could be an error that has since been corrected in newer versions. Hopefully that is not the case, since I have a feeling you're stuck with version 11 and can't update to the latest version, ANSYS 14.5.7.

Once I know that, I may be able to help more. :)
