Windchill - "Released" part to "In Work" part

Windchill - "Released" part to "In Work" part

Hi, I have a part that is in "Released" state at version 3.4. I would like to know how I can create an "In Work" state of the part without changing the rev? In other words I want it to remain at revision 3 (3.x), but I want it to go from version 3.4 "Released" to 3.5 "In Work". How would I go about doing that? Thanks, SrG.

And.... What do the following Windchill functions do? :
New One Off Version
New Part Configuration
New Variance

RE: Windchill - "Released" part to "In Work" part

What version of Windchill ae you using?

You can do a Set State on the part and change the 3.4 to In Work. You can NOT have 3.4 released and then get a 3.5 In Work.

I don't have permissions to "Set State" from "Released" to "In Work". The only way I can do that is to create a Change Notice and then the state will get changed. But that will bump it up to the next rev. So I went to an IT person and she has the authorization to change it to "In Work" and leave it at the same revision level. So I was able to update the item without REV-ing it. It's all been resolved now. But I'm still wondering what a "New One Off Version" is. Can someone tell me that?
