Clever Ways of Monitoring LEL at Height

Clever Ways of Monitoring LEL at Height

Clever Ways of Monitoring LEL at Height

(OP)
Hi all,

I'm new to natural gas processing, and I'm just wondering what would be a good way of monitoring LEL levels at height inside a process skid, with no platforms.

Say you have a compressor, with LEL monitor on top of it close to the roof, it costs a few thousand dollars to put up scaffolding in order to replace a damaged/malfunction LEL head.

Before I look into a trolley system or possibility of infrared sensor, I wanted to know if anyone here knows a easy solution to that.

Any ideas would be appreciated!

Thanks

Can you buy a pole like the ones they put around the highway on-ramps? Open a handhole at bottom, turn a crank, and down she comes - cable and all. Calibrate, and send her back to the top.

Best to you,

Goober Dave

Mount your instrument on the ground and run sample tubing from the location you want tested to the meter.
