Save a 3D PDF file?

Save a 3D PDF file?

Save a 3D PDF file?

(OP)
Is there any way in CATIA, or with an add-in, that will allow the saving of a 3D pdf file?

Solidworks now has this option built in, and it is as easy as file... save as... pdf, and check the "3d" box and you get a pdf file that can be zoomed and rotated etc... This is very handy for transferring items to personnel without CAD but it is inconvenient to have to save the catia as an IGS, then open it in solidworks, etc... Tried searching but didn't come across any easy or current info.

Thanks.

RE: Save a 3D PDF file?

No other methods?

There is not way to get pdf3D from CATIA?

RE: Save a 3D PDF file?

I believe there is an add on from Adobe that will work with Catia to allow you to do this. We downloaded a free trial version years ago, but as Ferdo said the 3dxml file is the easiest and gives you the exact same result.
