Hi fellow pipers,

I have a doubt with using ASME B31.3 Chapter ix-High Pressure Piping to calculate the minimum wall thickness.

The material which i have to use is A672 C65 CL22 which is plate material which is then formed into a pipe with a seam weld along the length of the pipe.

Now this material is listed in table A and not in table K. Table K is the applicable table for to obtain allowable stress values in order to calculate minimum wall thickness as per Chapter ix:High Pressure Piping for ASME B31.3.

Can i use the allowable stress values in table A for the formular to calculate wall thickness as per chapter ix:High Pressure Piping?

Regards

Yudi

RE: Can i use

No, you cant use table A-1 for Ch IX work. See K302.3.

You're welcome. There are a lot of good contributors to the site (I'm pretty new myself too), which can be of great benefit.
