Dear all,

What the welding weave tolerance . is it 3 time the electrode size

RE: welding

Maximum weave width is an "old welder's tale". In reality, the steels that are correct per API-650 are not sensitive to heat input variations. And the reason to limit weave width is to reduce the heat input per length of weld, per welding pass.

Thus, any designation of 'maximum weave width' is up to your Welding Engineer or your API Inspector. And check the WPS - approved welding procedure - that was specified to be used. The Welding Engineer that wrote the WPS may have specified a max. weave width.
